Aurifil’s 50wt thread is their most versatile and most popular cotton thread and is wound on their iconic orange spool.

Each large spool contains approx 1300 metres / 1422 yards of 2 ply 100% Egyptian cotton.

This 50wt thread is strong and thin, and results in remarkably flat and crisps seams. Perfect for machine or hand piecing, bobbin, machine quilting, English paper piecing, applique and fibre art.

Needle recommendations

• Machine  - Topstitch or Microtex/Sharp 80/12 or 90/14  - 50wt in bobbin
• Longarm - MR 2.5 or 3.0 - 50wt in bobbin
• Hand - Straw, Sharps or Applique size 10 or 11
